SuperStep AMA Recap
Q1: What is SuperStep?
SuperStep is a M2E game inspired by successful projects like StepN and the Web3 concept. Our objective is to provide motivation for fitness running, which is actualized by the Web3 incentivization model. By activating SuperStep, you can earn cryptos while doing your daily running. Many of our team members were the early supporters of StepN, for the past six months, we have witnessed its success as well as its imperfection. That’s why we now introduce the SuperStep project to improve upon it.
Q2: What are the differences between SuperStep and Step’N?
There are several shortages of the current M2E projects. First of all, almost all M2E games right now limit the number of users by requiring an activation code when you register, and very few of them are generous enough to offer airdrops like free NFT sneakers or platform tokens. The reason is that the dev teams behind those projects haven’t quite figured out how to counter inflation. Our enhanced anti-inflation mechanism will solve this problem, so that users at SuperStep can actually feel safe while holding the tokens.
Our unique anti-inflation mechanism opens the door to many possibilities. For example, we can now confidently make the game fully accessible for all as well as offering sneaker airdrops. For starters who took part in our airdrop event, SuperStep is actually free-to-play.
Last but not least, we have also finalized our Idle Mode, which allows sneaker holders to earn a small amount of tokens even when they are sleeping or working in the office. Many projects are still very hesitant to introduce that.
Q3: When is the application going to be released?
We’ve already released several sneak peeks of our APP in mid-June. Many features of a move-to-earn game can only be actualized by application including GPS tracker and motion-sensor. I think users should also feel more comfortable by using an APP instead of jumping between different web pages. As of now, the APP is in close-alpha test but it requires slightly more time to be user-ready. Starting from this week, our programmers will begin working on casual and competitive modes, you shouldn’t have to wait too long to see the official release of SuperStep.
Q4: What is the gem system?
Gem is like a weaponry add-on which you can find in many MMORPGs, assigning better gems to your SuperStep sneaker will boost its stats and performance. There are four types of gems in Superstep, each type of gem gives boost to a particular attribute. For example, a yellow gem boosts the sneaker’s earning efficiency whereas equipping a purple gem significantly decreases the repair cost.
Q5: How many gems can you equip on a sneaker?
You can assign up to 4 gems on a sneaker. Every sneaker has 4 sockets, unlike StepN which unlocks the first socket at level 5, at SuperStep, all 4 sockets are available to level 1 sneakers. Be aware that each socket is compatible with a certain type of gem. You should equip your gem to the most compatible socket to maximize your stats boost. As far as I can tell, most professional move-to-earn players usually prioritize on gems rather than stocking up on sneakers, because you can only run so much for a day so there is no point to keep scaling up your daily earning cap when you reach a certain point. By comparison, equipping the right gems allows you to unlock the full potential of your best sneaker. You can earn more while running less if you manage to achieve the best gem and sneaker compatibility. Sneakers with higher rarity mandate higher repair cost, which is another reason why you should assign a gem that gives your sneaker additional durability.
Q6: When will presale/airdrop end?
Both presale and airdrop will end on June 24th, currently we are at the last phase of presale and there’s only a few days left. Many early participants have already stocked up on $SGMT for upgrade consumption once SuperStep is actually playable.
Q7: Why are we planning to remove vanguard upgrade?
We intended to make Vanguard Upgrade as an early-bird privilege initially, but we did not expect that much participation, our community seems to be very enthusiastic about the event. To be honest, the number of participants astonished us. We don’t want to see the inflation of legendary sneakers because that would disrupt our overall anti-inflation effort. Therefore, we immediately published an announcement signaling the removal of the event . Preventing inflation is good for the community. The event will still be available for a short while, and it will be closed permanently. Having said that, we will not remove the upgrade progression of the users who have already participated in the Vanguard Upgrade. So there is no need to worry!
Q8: How do we keep a fair balance between old and new players?
We always wanted to keep a fair balance between old and new players, that’s where the gamefi features come into play. To achieve that, we plan to make sneaker upgrades slightly more expensive and difficult in the future, so that new users can still earn a satisfying rate when they run with a lower tier NFT sneaker. The cost of upgrading sneakers will go up at an accelerating rate as your sneaker reaches higher tiers. SuperStep is not a project where Whales-take-all.
Q9: What is a group-buy?
As the name implies, group-buy offers a generous discount to the customers who purchase together. Now at SuperStep, you can get 1 BNB money-back on your first purchase. In order to get the money-back, You need to create a group and invite your friends to purchase SGMT together. If more than two of your friends make a purchase of more than 1 BNB at SuperStep, all of you get a 1 BNB moneyback to your SuperStep account. With that money, you can buy extra sneakers or gems of your choice.
Q10: What is SuperStep’s anti-inflation mechanism?
Among different features and playstyles we are going to introduce, we are most proud of our dynamic anti-inflation mechanism. The existing move-to-earn projects tend to copy-paste the tokenomics of GameFis like Axie Infinity. Their token burning mechanisms heavily rely on making consumption scenarios and buybacks. To be honest, almost all of these practices will fail in the long-run, just take a look at their results!
BTC is the predominant cryptocurrency in the market, and its anti-inflation mechanism is fairly simple. When there are more transactions and mining activities, the mining return rate will decrease. We borrowed the idea from BTC and designed a dynamic anti-inflation system. If the total daily distribution of $SGST in casual mode is 10,000 and there are 500 legendary sneakers on the market, then each legendary sneaker gives you a daily earning cap of 20 SGST. If there are 800 legendary sneakers in the market, without any change applied to the total daily distribution, each legendary sneaker gives you a 12.5 SGST earning cap. Legendary sneakers will give you a higher daily earning cap than a common sneaker does. Your share of the total daily distribution cap is calculated based on the number of sneakers that you own, their rarities, stats and add-ons.
The dynamic anti-inflation mechanism will preserve the value of your tokens in the long-run.
Q11: What is idle mode?
Idle mode is automatically activated when you are not running and the APP will generate a very small amount of $SGST on an hourly basis. Most move-to-earn projects have mentioned the similar feature in their whitepapers but have not yet released it. We intend to introduce the mode earlier so that every user can get a feeling of earning cryptos before they start running. However, the idle mode is not designed to make you lazy, and if you hold 10 Legendary sneakers in your inventory only to earn from idle mode, that is truly a waste of your NFTs’ earning potential.
Q12: Are there any other game modes in SuperStep?
SuperStep is also going to introduce casual mode and competitive mode. Most people will earn from casual mode on a daily basis, you can simply click “start” on the App and start running. Competitive mode is a PVP event where users can choose to compete on their speed or mileage. Users have to register for the competitive event at least a week earlier in order to participate.
Q13: What is SuperStep’s anti-cheat mechanism?
Pervasive cheating always leads to inflation and honest users quitting the project. That’s why we put it as our main concern. As other move-to-earn projects, we use GPS to track the user’s movement speed and set a speed parameter to filter out cheaters. If a user’s speed goes below or above the speed parameter, His casual mode will automatically be deactivated. We are also working on motion sensors as well so that users who run on treadmills can earn at SuperStep as well.
Unfortunately, the existing anti-cheat methods for move-to-earn games are not optimal because they are all software solutions. When the move-to-earn games become more popular in the world, companies should really consider making small gadgets specialized for the games.
To strengthen our anti-cheat mods, we require every user to submit its heart-rate on the APP, it is very easy to use. Basically, your earning stream will be halted every 30 minutes and a heart-rate scan is required to continue. On our APP, you only need to place a finger on your camera and it's done. If your heart-rate is in a reasonable parameter, your earning stream will be activated again. Heart-rate is harder to fake than your mileage and location. Checking your heart-rate once every 30 minutes not only helps our anti-cheat effort, but also forces you to take a short break and be aware of your physical condition.
Q14: What is the companion mode?
We really want to turn SuperStep into a trend. The M2E concept by itself is very attractive to ordinary people, however, the marketing methods that we currently see in the industry are pretty mediocre. Every project is doing the same thing such as offering referral rewards and sales commission. I personally don’t think they are effective enough to convince the players to invite their friends and family. Here at SuperStep we tend to be more innovative not only on product design but also on brand promotion. Companion mode is an idea we came up with a while back ago, it is an alternative to the solo modes of most projects. In our case, companion mode is a co-operative version of the casual mode. In companion mode, two or more than two users can link their SuperStep accounts and create a temporary group, you can only link your account with others when all of you are in the same geographical parameter. When you run together as a group, you and other group members receive a 20% earning efficiency boost.
Our team believes that a M2E project should strive to make a better world and help resolve the most urgent crisis of our time. Despite being eco-friendly, it would also be beautiful if our project can facilitate collaboration between individuals who are much more socially isolated in the modern time. Companion mode gives people extra tokens while running with friends and family, which is the most straight-forward way to incentivize referral as well as socialization.
Q15: What are the SuperStep’s marketing strategies?ry76
Dennis: In order to gather the first wave of followers, we worked with a dozen Youtube and Twitter KOLs to promote our project when we first launched the airdrop event. Our telegram group now has over 19,000 members and our twitter is followed by 11,000 people. After that, we halted the KOL marketing for a while, because marketing has to keep in pace with project development. We will launch another wave of marketing when there is more exciting news to share, especially when the App is finalized. In the meantime, we are working with our followers to encourage organic marketing. We want our users to promote the projects in their own words and with their own experience at SuperStep. For example, we announced a token giveaway in mid June this year, users are asked to make their own tweets about SuperStep and share them to a broader audience. Within the first 48 hours, we received more than 500 applications who actively promoted SuperStep in their own words and in multiple languages. One in five of them were selected to receive the token and sneaker giveaway.
We have a very diversified and passionate user-base here at SuperStep. Members have created their own fan-clubs based on nationalities and help promote our brand image in their regions.
Q16: When is the first listing event?
According to the current pace of development, we plan on getting SuperStep listed at Pancakeswap several days after presale ends. I would say it will happen either in late June. We have more listing plans coming up including coinmarketcap, coingecko and several centralized exchange listing options that are currently in talk. Presale token and NFT withdrawal will also be unlocked immediately after the Pancakeswap listing.
Q17: Is there a staking option?
We are actually planning on releasing the staking pools around the time of token listing on Pancakeswap. You can stake your BNB or SGMT to earn extra SGMT and up to 900% APY. There are 14 days, 30 days and 90 days options for you to choose from.
Q18: What is the team’s main motivation to release SuperStep?
Our slogan is “run for health, run for wealth” , which I believe perfectly defines the objective of the SuperStep. In our world, people make a lot of difficult trade-offs that have entailed serious consequences such as the degradation of one’s health as well as global warming. At SuperStep, we incentivize people with real financial reward when they contribute to build a better world or simply build a better body. The M2E project is in this way attractive intuitively, and is good intrinsically.
Our intention of doing this project is to serve goods to the world as much as we can. M2E projects help improve physical well-being as well as the environment, and SuperStep aims to take an incremental step in solving the most urgent crisis in the most practical way. Our project is a commonwealth of our users, the developers and the society. That is what drives us to work hard and move forward.

Nice project
it looks cool
